Yeah the data used for ppp probably doesn’t take into account housing/insurance

a surprising amount of people don’t know how to swim

Can we define what knowing how to swim means
anyone can like
float in the water

that’s just false

if you drown in water it’s a skill issue

all you have to do is flap your arms or whatever

I got paywalled on the stats site i just linked, but from what I could see from their insurance premium graph, you know what else has continued to increase sharply in the past few decades besides housing prices lmao

people have slipped on beaches and drowned

on sand?

yes

or like somewhat in the water

yeah lol :skull:

Yep

Idk I just feel like the bar for swimming is literally not drowning which if you have any control of your arms or legs should be impossible

So yeah it can both be true that incomes have increased relative to the cost of everything except housing and insurance, but that doesn’t actually matter if housing and insurance premium costs are outstripping that growth. People are not going to have a positive perception of the economy when things are more expensive at the grocery store, and their savings accounts are being drained even if it’s not really the increased prices at the grocery store costing them.

you know, wages have outplaced inflation but they sure haven’t outpaced the essentials market

is what im getting from this

i feel like you’re just making stuff up based on what you think is true and not what actually has any evidence
