Frankly I have (imo pretty clearly) been far more reactive to the bit about “good men know I didn’t mean them” than the initial statement because imo that part is just a really bad way of viewing things
which your entire post here doesn’t comment on to instead bring up context for that original statement, when my entire point was that I don’t think we should strive to let context be our defense at making statements that we just really don’t have to make
feels like stooping to the same level as people we claim to be better than imo
