There’s obviously a balance between something as extreme as the original version of this game (everybody gets a random role each night, though certain roles have effects that persist longer etc) and something where the proposed Poker Hands mechanic actually ends up barely mattering/only mattering if you got a good starting role. Both extremes as boring. I understand the basic premises of a setup like this, I’m just debating between the potential different incarnations of it
