My parents are highly incompatible and they cant disagree with each other without yelling ensuing. Neither of them knows how to compromise or concede a point, they both believe they have to be in the utmost right and if they dont receive agreement they start yelling to make their point

The only reason they got together and why i was born was peer pressure to get married and have kids early by conservative society

divorce is often percieved as a bad thing to be allowed, especially by children effected by it (iirc)
but like. the entire point of divorce is that, ideally you Donā€™t use it, but we donā€™t live in an ideal world so hereā€™s an option that is better than staying in a loveless/abusive/whatever marriage

yea
its funny how like
christians will point to the like, 50% divorce rate in america
and then use it as a justification for either ā€œthis is why we should END DIVORCEā€ or ā€œthis is why we should up our culture of pressuring people to stay married and to get married fastā€ (even though this is often what makes the divorce necessary!) or both

i thought i was the only thing holding them together, and then it looked like it was gonna for sure end, now I dont think its ever gonna happen, they seem content enough and are planning retirement together etcā€¦ i think they just realized so much of their identity and etc. is tied up in the other

did better than one would expect having known eachother for only 6mo before getting engaged

My mom had 3 partners, all 3 were alcoholics, one of them tried to hang himself because he was so drunk and got himself in debt so her response was beating him up and kicking him out of the house because he was being a negative presence constantly

Average lithuanian family luckily she never got married

My parents got married after 10 months. Not even engaged, married

They make it appear as if they never ever had marriage issues and were always happy but Iā€™m p confident theyā€™re lying about it, probably even to themselves
Though itā€™s probably true that they have Less now
