No implication; it’s just for code consistency and readability.
According to my parents and especially my dad, snake_case is considered much better practice.

hm… for me, no, because i think the answer is always “yes”. my mental model of social media is
-you need to make/have an account
-options to communicate with others over text with pictures/videos/etc.
which is pretty wide

instagram is social media, snapchat is social media, reddit is social media, fol (and most forums) is social media, telegram is social media,
SMS text is not, imageboards such as 4chan is not

you could argue this, for example, makes Yahoo Chess a type of social media. Maybe have “primary purpose is to communicate with images/videos/text” as a qualifier?
