well to be fair with like, detective shows, That’s The Point
but
im more hating on like, marvel movies with 10 action scenes and 1 thing that barely even gets close to an actual emotional scene
like i don’t give a fuck about how you went back in time and destroyed the infniity stones again or whatever, i want to see captain america be a grief counselor
action sequences n shit do have their place just.
idk i don’t like how it feels like they [usually executives] squander the potential of an actually really emotionally resonant story in favor of haha funny shoot gun
and it happens very often
i probably overpercieve the amount of movies doing this because i don’t like movies tho
if i were nbowie i’d probably call it like, the commodification of stories or something
im so perpetually angry and bitter all the time i dont think u guys know. i try my best to hide it. its so exhausting. im tired, chief
hugs you there there tutuu bubuu the orange-flavored candies will come back next week I promise mwwoooah, don’t you worry
(What is bothering you?)
I’d say that it’s a consequence of studios attempting to find something that’s consistently and constantly profitable.
The MCU was the latest big thing, and that’s led to oversaturation in the vain hope of chasing that high.
Combine this with audiences’ shifting tastes post-COVID, the Writer’s Guild and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year, and generative AI becoming widely accessible with ChatGPT, and you get an industry that’s ultimately desperate.
yea
Irrational things. Stupid things, if i told you you wouldnt know what to say. I know theyre irrational, that adds onto the frustration. I feel like if i manage to understand something thats upsetting me is irrational i should be able to not be upset by it as theres no rational reason left to be upset by i feel like my brain isnt cooperating with me and just does whatever it wants. Thanks for asking
This is by far the big one: post-COVID, the average person has gone from seeing five films a year in theaters to three films, and that runs straight into a bunch of giant blockbusters that now need to pitch themselves as the thing to see.
where’s the option to vote for both reasons
meanwhile I’ve technically seen more movies in theaters this year than in probably any preceding year of my life lol
however they were literally all special event re-showings and not a single new film so like whether that counts is up to you ig
on that note I have two more tomorrow and the day after lel
Same, but that’s purely because I’m two blocks down from a Regal and have a Crown Club membership.
