I will say, when you go outside of twitter I think most investors at least are shying away from Tesla as the āfuture of carsā.
Teslaās stock isā¦ bad, in comparison to the other major tech stocks that marked the late 2021 hype. Look at apple and microsoft, who have continuously improved, whereas tesla has not been seeing that same growth.
And Itās still overvalued pretty greatly.

iām still a bit miffed because electric cars are going to start being needed in a few years from now and tesla had a huge head start in enhancement before elon messed it up
Youāre also not really the type of person Iām talking about. My mom is firmly an income bracket below but sheās a really good example. Was talking all about wanting a tesla for the environment etc, was her dream car, now would NEVER get one.

I will say, China has some REALLY sweet electric car tech. Of course, thereās an insane amount of politics that makes that difficult in the US and Europe, but the technology itself IS advancing, and being made for CHEAP, just not in america.

self driving cars are like ~objectively a bad idea until they somehow become full automation (safely) and wasting time on it this early in electric car cycles is just stupid

The shit theyāre doing in china with EV technology is honestly beautiful, and while I can kind of get the idea that you want the electric car industry to thrive in the US, I am not as nationalistic and think we should just embrace it. I would fucking love a chinese EV

geopolitics can shift a lot, and realistically the US isnāt insanely far behind on a lot of these developments, but yes it is frustrating that the tech is being stalled in the US while our (incredibly anti-competitive, ftr) supposed flagship domestic manufacturer isnāt keeping up.
