there’s two reasons to it
one is technological limitations and the cost it would be to upgrade
the second is that league is such a different game cross-region that there’s entirely different metas depending on the region and it’d cause a massive shakeup and balance issues

they cut skin artists and their recent project legends of runeterra has been a commercial flop
and looks like they’re funneling the majority of funding to projects outside of league like Arcane, their new fighting game, their short story games and legends of runeterra (formerly)
