god willing this season is so bad the government heavily reforms FEMA

god i hate FEMA

Sure, but it’s also a predictable consequence of a higher concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The same is true of the higher frequency of severe flooding, and extreme weather in general. We cannot say if it would’ve been less severe on any given year with certainty because that’s fundamentally unknowable, but we can make predictions and look at trends, all of which are in line with climate change making it worse.

What’s fems

Fema

How do you not know this

I’m not American and even I know this :sob:

specifically because of EAS scenarios on youtube but

Like I know they exist but I don’t really know what they do

I don’t get hit hurricanes every Tuesday

agency responsible for disaster relief

they are notorious for flat out abandoning areas

ik we were abandoned and told to suck shit in ‘04 after Katrina (i was really young don’t remember this fully) and ‘16 after the floods

Honestly, our government is probably incompetent enough that they go, “Hey, FEMA is useless; we should reduce our spending for it.”

it’s also hilarious cause i got the “please get the fuck off our policy rate increase” from my homeowners
