At some point, I realized that my enjoyment of a game was directly negatively correlated with how seriously I took the game.
Like, best example is Virtuous, which was far more fun when it was just me and Carbon hyping ourselves up over making the funniest possible play and far less fun when it’s me trying to figure out how to actually win.
Not advocating for game throwing, but I definitely am drawing my lines in the sand regarding emotional investment in mafia games.

like i just can’t really see Anything Interesting coming from TB, or even some of the better scripts
and homebrew and custom scripts tend to be… just. not for me anymore, ig
i also did end up playing anyways b/c people needed people like 5 times. this means it will take me like 10 years to get not burnt out i think
i think for mafia champs was the nail in the coffin. i was already pretty burnt out by then but i gave it my all and nothing changed so it kinda just. didn’t really feel worth it ever

I don’t think it’s that dire. You can just be curious about it and then this curiosity will make you try things and pull you back into it, but if you can’t be bothered with it for time being, let it regrow
