like yes I am aware I am missing millions of (indie) games which are probably very good
like minds beneath us which I had to dig very down deep to find. if I had it my way, it would be a GOTY candidate, but it lacks the ubiquity requirement of being goty

yeah i can give credence to the idea that game of the year games do need to be Some Level of known, just not that they need to be known even outside of the circles its supposed to be known in

well no it shouldn’t. it should be the best of the popular games. except there weren’t many good games that came out this year so instead we’ve gotten globally niche but very popular in genre games nominated for goty which shouldn’t happen, which is my complaint

i spent approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes unraveling a glob of yarn into a straight line today
like we have other awards for a reason - they’re to appreciate the games that wouldn’t stand a chance in goty because of its nature
