If you’re going to spend this on Arena: absolutely no do not. But in paper it’s not really $500 because you can resell the cards later, and get a good chunk of cash back. Probably not all, but the expensive lands in standard will hold onto their value for a good while. Also if you genuinely can’t afford to spend that kind of money on a luxury hobby: do not. I have disposable income and have been playing magic off and on for a decade and a half so a lot of my most expensive decks have cards I’ve collected over that time.

Oh you’re a dirty, dirty mill player I see. Most of the expensive cards are gonna hold their price in the near future at the very least so yeah go nuts. Worst case scenario you get almost all of your money back.

im a dirty, dirty midrange and control player, and people think i hate fun but interaction is fun! all my decks do is interact! i kill or counter everything while drawing cards. what’s not to like?

i watched a video on lantern control and i found it absolutely fascinating if i fuck with mtg heavy heavy on paper i might get that deck as well
