Society if better coding.
Almost makes me regret not going into CS.
Almost.
my god
How is this something theyāve never accounted for! People have, like, names with different spellings, or multiple first names, or go by their middle name, how come you canāt just write YES THIS IS ALSO ME and their system handles that
My university literally just has a prefered name and they change literally Eveyrhing in every system if you ever change the preferred name
itās caused a lot of issues for me because I use my middle name as my preferred name and then also use my first names on tests and Iām too lazy to fix it
international students and trans students really got some insane alliance against these stupid university naming systems
Between not wanting my name on 1/2 of things to be male and the girl next to me not wanting her name on 1/2 of things to be korean, we can really fuckin tackle these inefficiencies
My middle name is great for friends while my first name is great for making a good generic first impression
Like in an interview āx yā
Didnāt think of that when setting preferences though
My mom uses her maiden name professionally and her married name in her personal life and she said itās nice to have because you can tell where somebody knows you from, and people canāt always look you up as easily if you donāt want them to
So I was like huh sounds great. And did htat with my first name
She did some trickery with a school board meeting where she was able to pretend she didnāt know somebody b/c she had two different names and her first name was generic enough that people didnāt immediately assume the names were the same person
do u guys know my name i forgot if i told it
22
you told me it
If I ever get married, even if i took last name of other person, I probably just gonna use current last name, because itās generic/unoffensive but has brandable intials
yeah i was vat grown and they gave me the index 22 as i was the 22nd on the output line
would consider doing a combination last name if whoever I married had another british last name, because people with two british last names seem wealthier to me, and if I was in a heavier finance job iād want that
I be mad trustin someone named like Jane Burton-Smithley to handle my finances
