the difference is hawaiian bread is a specific sweet bread type

all hawaiian rolls are bread rolls

not all bread rolls are hawaiian rolls

the company that made the rolls in that last squirrel pic is Kings Hawaiian (they are in fact from Hawaii, as is their recipe for their sweet rolls, hence ā€œhawaiian rollā€ for that particular sweet roll) but the rolls themselves in that picture are not hawaiian rolls

iā€™ve never seen/had rolls that look like that, that arenā€™t hawaiian rolls. but my household also literally never didnā€™t have hawaiian rolls

kings hawaiian sweet rolls generally end up less rounded on the top because the part thatā€™s connected between them generally runs a bit higher
