i’d like to think im empathetic towards people around me
i wasn’t really raised to care but its just constantly been a backdrop that fighting it just makes it worse

i can be ambivalent towards somebody if i especially dislike them but its hard to hate people cause you feel like you know why they are as they are

Is there a gain for me to receive by trying to acquire empathy?
Like I desire everybody to think I’m better than them but I don’t actually want that desire to come true. I’m unhappy on the occasion that it actually happens

Being more empathetic makes you better at spotting Cool Tricks in social situations. If you are better at putting yourself in somebody’s shoes you can give them things they didn’t know they wanted

Weirdly enough, I think Minecraft Story Mode really helped me as a kid, both for “think before you speak” and “not saying anything might be the best response to a situation”.
