FTR getting it on the Switch was not my choice it was a gift from my aunt
i figured
i like 5
and there’s a lot of things about 5 that are very cool
but I never loved 5
not even once
I think 7 looks poised to blend the best elements of 3, 4, 5, and 6 while incorporating some cool new ideas from other 4X games and I really do think that by the time all is said and done it stands a good chance of being the Civ game
Very successful gift. Thousands of hours across the family
It stands a 100% chance of being a Civ game. More in soon
maybe unless you’re into competitive multiplayer tho
that scene will prolly stay on 6 at least for now, the competitive multiplayer side of Civ VII ain’t looking great
but also that’s like 0.1% of civ gamers and VI ain’t going anywhere so nbd
It’ll be good or bad. I don’t know. The first videogame I ever learnde about before it came out was when I was watching Breath of the Wild demos as a child and that really trained me to never think about videogames before they release. Because that thing did not
to be clear I do specifically mean ranked competitive multiplayer
casual multiplayer with friends still lookin great
At least not for some time. So May collective policy is that we don’t think about videogames until the videogame is able to be played by me
wdym
botw released (and was awesome)
oh
you weren’t there for the chairs
the fucking chairs, man
99.9% small chance the studio shuts down
It did release eventually. But if you’re a small child and you’re told “this is when the game will release” and it doesn’t. That ends up formative
the fucking chairs
i quickly got used to release dates being lies so i get it
(still have a bootleg of yandhi on my phone lol)
When you’re an adult person video game delays are like whatever, because months and years are normal spans of time. I was not this. And so it just felt like it took an infinite amount of time.
OH ALSO the OTHER first game I learned about before its release was fucking PIKMIN 4
the CHAIRS
And they’re good games! But, like, anticipating them only brought me disappointment, and I found videogames much more enjoyable when I simply ignored thema nd pretended they didn’t exist until I could press a button in them
hint: it did not release in 2014 winter
