Empirical evidence overwhelmingly refutes it. The US is also much further to the right, and so far left positions here include things like universal healthcare which is not controversial in other developed nations. I feel that someone trying to say that horseshoe theory is a thing when one extreme is great replacement theory neonazi whackjobs and the other side wants people to be guaranteed things like shelter, food, healthcare, and civil rights is either acting in bad faith or has never really paid attention to the material beliefs each side holds. Again, empirical evidence backs that up lol.
