alternatively you could have the SW take over only when both states match
e.g.

  • living zombuul living SW, zobmuul dies → dead for real zombuul living sw zombuul
  • “dead” zombuul, dead SW, zombuul dies → “dead” SW zombuul
  • alive zombuul, dead SW → it literally just progresses to the above one

the only issue with this would be

  • “dead” zombuul, living SW, zombuul dies → ???

but this can only happen due to midgame creation so
