…?
If 5 (killer) was the wrogn number, then the constraint of ‘#’ becomes useless for the killer, no?

If 9 (# = wrogn number) is wrong, then # could be any number.
(There is nowhere stated that # has the same value across the board.)
((Which is why I didn’t bother entertaining the idea that 9 is wrogn.))

thoughts?

But if 5 is wrogn, 1-4 is correct via definition. (Since only one rule can be wrogn)

But if 5 is correct, 1-4 CAN’T be wrogn either, otherwhise that would break the 3-cage killer box.

Correct. (…what does that have to do with anything?)

It would also mean that 9 is correct, and # = 5, which forces C1R8 to be 4, which… shouldn’t be impossible from that moment’s POV, no? (Are we theorizing which rule could be the wrogn one, or are we stating which number can’t be wrogn due to “some proof”?)

…? Why would–
Ah. I see. You’re right. The only way to break the entirety of the killer cage is by having 9 be wrong, but regardless of whether 5 is wrogn or not, it would still result in 1-4 being correct.

Well done! :+1:

I don’t think that’s how Cthulhu is spelled

It should be, since 3 black kropki next to each other require both a 2 and a 4.
(And if #=5 the kropki rule has to be correct.)

If 5 or 9 are wrogn, then 1-4 are not wrogn.
If 5 and 9 are not wrogn, then the minimum ‘#’ can be is a 6. Ergo, 1-4 are not wrogn.
WOW. This is beautiful logic.

(I can’t believe this is supposed to be the starting logic.)
((Really? What I can’t believe is that we got the correct solution on our first try!))
(It proves that the puzzle is -unfortunately- not idiot-proof.)

Touché. :hmmyes:

The 9 in box 1 and the sandwich clue forces the 1 in row 3 in box 2.

Making the white kropkis in box 2 into a 1-2-3 line. And forcing a 7 into r3c3.

R8c1 can’t be 9.
It would mean little killer is wrong, making the sandwich clue into a 6, but the smallest number in that case in r8c2 and r8c3 can be only 3.

(1 is ruled out via sudoku, 2 in r8c2 is ruled out via sudoku, and 2 in r8c3 ruled out, cause 7can’t be put in c3 anymore, (we just put a 7 in r3c3))

But there can’t be two 3s in the same row.

From similar reasons r8c3 can’t be 9.
(It would force a 4 into r8c1, but we already established that isn’t possible)

So the 9 in row 8 is forced into box 8.

So 9 is either in r8c4 or r8c5 (it can’t be in r8c6 otherwhise the sandwich rule would be forced to be 0, but that’s not possible.)

And 1 is either in r8c6 or r8c7

But in cas # = 6 or 7 the killer cage’s 1 (in box 5) has to be in column 6 which eliminates 1 from r8c6.

Making box 9 row 2 into a 1-2-4 line.

And the 1 on column 7 in box 9, and 1-2-3 on row 3 in box 2 makes the V clue in box 3 impossible, making XV (aka rule 7) into the wrogn one.

This is so adorable

Neat! As mentioned before, this was basically my thought process:

  1. Pray 9 is not wrogn, because I don’t want to think about false clues on other rules
  2. (Forgotten step) Trust in killer rule 5
  3. Trust in little killer rule 6

…and the rest is basically the same as yours. I did sandwich, thermo, put my trust in killer (and write possible numbers first; I trust 9, so killer always has a 1 in it -not the best clue tbh-), kropki, killer (for real this time), and around this time I put my trust in little killer -which narrowed down the possible numbers for C1R8- and uh. Everything worked out in the end.

7 being wrogn was found out accidentally by following every other rule except 7 and 8, and when I realize it could be 7 for real, I just kept following other rules and filling out the rest of the board.
