I think of carbonated being can adjective that means contains carbonation
And sparkling water is water that is carbonated with a fancy name cuz it sounds cooler and also itās just has stuff in it

i j generally call it all sparkling water even tho itās not exactly the same thing itās close enough it flows off the tongue better

ive found that most places dont offer sparkling water but they do offer carbonated water
its why some places have two water dispensers on a soda fountain, one with the lemonade and one with the sprite/starry. The lemonade one is regular water and the sprite one is carbonated water. The sprite one dont got any sryup added tho so it tastes yucky
