Hmm. There’s two routes I can walk to cross this one street, one on a pedestrian bridge over it and one crossing the street. They’re equally (in)convenient in the moment, so I alternate them. But it would actually probably be ideal to always take the bridge, as the small risk of being hit by a car crossing the street is sufficiently to give the bridge a bit of an edge. But it’s not a risk I take into account when I’m walking.

I have to take stairs to get to my destination either way. Either I take them up to the pedestrian bridge (which remains elevated afterward) or I take them after I cross the street.
