Role Thief: It’s a good role, but I’m not a fan of the idea of a role being responsible for an entire mechanic. (I.e., anti-claim mechanic.) After this user’s death, mass claiming becomes inevitable, and without good fakeclaims or ambiguous Mafia roles, Mafia would have disadvantage when they attempt to claim their role. This game doesn’t suffer from the WCS, but this type of strategy cannot be applied for all kinds setups; it’s not versatile.

I prefer not to use private information in mafia games, so the ensuing conversation in the host chat is not something I will discuss or consider, but here is Zone_Q11’s public commentary on my Role Thief in the Kakegurui-themed game.

I pick 3 players at day to instantly cut them from any outside main-thread chats, and learn how many were cut in the group. Here are all my picks so far, I did them at the earliest possible time I was in thread.

This is an interesting role. The aspect of cutting players from chats and learning how many were cut is difficult to fake-claim, so I do think Chomps has this role. Whether it is town or mafia aligned is the question that remains.

It is, of course, quite powerful for a town-aligned role. It has a clear predecessor in the X-Target Shaman from April Showers Overhaul. I would suspect that the role has downsides if it is town-aligned: all wolves being in neighborhoods, lost wolves and neutrals, things of that nature.

I already have had a theory that the Love Triangle Neighborhood which I found myself in contains two wolves, as it would be a natural progression from a pure neighborhood to a one-wolf neighborhood to a two-wolf neighborhood. This is silly speculation, of course, but I cannot shake the idea.
