“mad” basically means that you are trying to convince something that “x” is true.
In these cases, the Pixie and Cerenovus both encourage you to be mad about being a certain character; whether or not it’s the Pixie gaining their new ability or the player trying to avoid being executed by the Cerenovus.

so if the cerenovus targets X and goes “you are mad that you are the juggler”
then X has to go be like “guys im the juggler” and they have to actively do it and they can’t claim anything else or they get executed (maybe, depends on the ST)

Madness itself isn’t caused by an ability, it’s just when you’re trying to convince people something is true.
It just has no effect without the abilities present.

if you have, say, a pixie choirboy
a character that would reasonably fakeclaim
would you count it as madness if they claimed other roles with the intent to pivot to choirboy later, as long as they were making an earnest effort to do so
since claiming choirboy outright on day 1 is a good way to convince the group that you are not the choirboy

i think that cerenovusing someone into the damsel and having them randomly come out in front of the whole group and say “heyyyyy guys im the damsel lmao xd xd” is really unsatisfying way to satisfy the madness since uh
it’s not an earnest attempt to convince anyone that you actually are the damsel, since the damsel has absolutely zero incentive to do anything like that
