Hazard stood his ground with his back towards the town’s bordering forest. The trees swayed and hurled behind him; a natural contrast to the hellfire and pitchforks waved at his face.
So many people had already died, but he wouldn’t join them. He refused it. Without so much as a word, Hazard surrendered himself to the darkness, declaring his own fate as he turned and lost himself among the trees.
