In my eyes, the transaction does not show Eli’s alignment. As either alignment, the deal makes sense. If Sir Ale is lying, then they die (which is only bad in the one instance where they are Boomdaddy.) If Sir Ale is not lying, then their role is narrowed down immensely. And if Eli is evil, then they would get free towncred.
