I mean they’d see it here but that’s a consequence of the fact that we’re fuckin posting (High Sin) and this game attempts to emulate IRL Blood on the Clocktower as best as possible. Well it’s @Jarek’s ruling
idk
that’s how I ruled it when I ran mez a while ago but the mez victim p much blundered into saying the word anyway so lmao
the only mez game on forums i remember (devils game) i was good so i have actually no idea how amelia ran it there
theres not really a precedent
Mez as intended no matter where the word is said or how, even if it’s in the night phase while you’re using your ability, you’ll turn evil if you were the first one that said it
honestly wouldnt be surprised if jarek ran it differently than me
So I used the wrong formula and got the right answer. Bamboozled wasn’t the word, Zone just said it in a whisper with CRichard. Awesome
That’s why the mez word is typically something you can’t Accidentally say.
you know that is actually a very valid point
I played a Mezepheles game where that was the rules but that was adapted by people who had zero previous experience with Blood on the Forums or in fact any kind of longform forum mafia. They were just kinda winging it. They did a good job it was a great game but not one I’d go to for mechanical precedent lmao. I suppose I simply made an assumption. Well they call it that for a reason
BECAUSE when you ASSUME you make an AS out of SU and ME LMAO LMAO LOL
The only requirement for the mez word is that the ST’s are actually capable of hearing you say it, otherwise how are they going to know you were the first one that said it?
man coming into this from high stakes eden gameplay is such a mood swing
Which is typically why you’ll have a mez word be said in an ST consult or in a DM or whatever - because the person saying the word wants to know for a fact the ST’s have heard it. But you don’t have to.
If you really wanted to be fruity with a mez word you know about you could say it in public. I’ve literally done that. And it was hilarious.
In an irl game, would it be ruled as “The first good player that the Storyteller hears say it?”
yeah pretty much
mez even has a reminder token for that
Most likely yeah, otherwise the mez could literally lie and approach the ST and go “yeah this guy said the word” when they didn’t and turn them evil against their will
Jarek every additional word you say on this subject makes me more and more suspicious that the Mezepheles word was not actually said in a Storyteller whisper.
Actually hold on I reran the calculations in my mind and I’m swinging back toward the inverse this could be overcompensation or it could be a neutral reaction carry on
I just like talking about mechanics.
