Mmm, yeah, I knew the solve I was moving toward was scuffed, but I kept getting more and more locked inā¦ donāt know what I couldāve done about it, though.
Socially, I couldāve seen the little ripples of my understanding of the game being wrong, and I think I did - working within an incorrect solve meant that everything I did felt wrong toward the end of things - but I didnāt have enough faith in those vague vibes to zoom out and look closer at the assumptions I was making.
Like, I could tell somethig was wrong, the outed evils never seemed to get moreā¦ scared, as we moved from one PoE person to the next, Atlas clearly had no motivation to claim theyād always been good, as that sounds more evil than not, but the kills made no sense if they wereā¦ but I just assumed I was too sick and tired to see what was right in front of me.
I think that might be fine, actually, at least in terms of my lategame decision-making. I think I was right about this game being unsolvable within mental health guidelines.
The errors were in assumptions made very very early on - ones that I didnāt have to make, certainly, I knew both the Zone and Bella Damsel guesses were justā¦ unrealistic, there was no way either actually thought they were getting the Damsel there, I knew Bella was socially sounding a lot like a Damsel D1, I knew Zoneās Mathematician information was nonsensical a lot earlier than it shouldāve been, I knew the Savant information made no sense for the kind of world we were living in, but that a Drunk Savant wouldāve made the setup wretchedly unbalanced, and I knew that Kiiruma shouldnāt have been alive.
All that was there. I just bounced between alternative theories for each of them, went āoh that solves the issueā, and never once again thought about the Issues when I changed my theories in such a way that they were no longer accounted for. Thatās one lesson I can take, I suppose: write things down in a setup like this.
I donāt regret being loudly wrong at all. It worked, I just failed to interpret the results correctly. Jokeās on you, it was just a reaction test. How many layers of reaction test are you on? Oh maybe three or four. You are like little baby. Watch this. Etc etc et al. Being loudly wrong about CRichard/Arctic let me see how evils reacted, which let me see they werenāt evil (though I failed to act on that the day they died because I also kept getting feelings that Jake wasnāt evil), and maybe if Iād done more social pushing, Iādve been able to see something was up.
Whatever. I had fun, and Blood on the Clocktower is more an exercise in seeing what kind of wonderful fantasy worlds evils can build for you to live in, and seeing how those worlds hold up to the elements. Your castle was very sturdy and survived the windstorm with only minor creaking sounds in the back of my head that I ignored. Great job.
