I think final girl is just an archetype, and the Slasher could relate to Michael Myers just as easily.
To be fair, Friday the Thirteenth is such a horror/slasher classic so they could be for that franchise.

Final Girl might be Sidney from Scream franchise.
Hence what I mean about it being an archetype.
I don’t think “final girl” can be narrowed to any one specific franchise with how broad it is.
That’s where my head is at when I see Final Girl, which pings Sidney to me.
Final Girl is just a generic horror movie phrase. so is Slasher.

I suppose the death mechanic works with a Xenomorph, but the Fang Gu-esque conversion feels more Thing-y than Chestburst-y.
