i severally doubt, given the role is at least confirmable rolewise and outsider count wise litten just expected us to go “kill them stab them”, and would instead use this as an excuse to buy a day or two to use their ability before getting lynched because a sacrifice/real conspirator comes out, or as a trick to try and bait them out

The most tangible theory is that they’re an outsider and they wanted to claim in order to die d1. You see this all the time with things like barbers, recluses, mutants, ect. The only outsiders that dont want to die d1 are ones that have a negative effect upon dying(Not the case), or ones that are secretly townsfolk(not the case).
