like i do still play regularly but only like, 10 or so matches on solo queue without paying much attention to my rank. whenever i boot up splatoon 3 i enter a fugue state and by the time i leave i am informed that i played 10 games with the E-Liter and Tri-Stringer and have inexplicably gotten #1 Turf Inker multiple times using those weapons

the thing is that itās not like iām using those as turfing weapons! I donāt get how it happens i just seem to keep accidentally painting huge amounts with my warning shots

i do really love playing backlines though. like the playstyle focused heavily around manipulating the position of your opponents pleases me. my favourite thing to do with e-liter is to shoot conspicuously above my target, forcing them to dodge into cover where iāve already placed an ink mine. this isnāt even that good of a play in solo queue it relies on someone being there to punish itās just so mean i love it

So, good news. There was a losersā bracket. We made it to the match for second, which was against a team called the āAnti-Dualiesā. They switched to quad dualies, we switched off dualies. We mightāve lost, but I think we won the contest of āfunniest teams on the streamā.

And saying I know how to play it is an exaggeration. I suppose I was technically confident enough in my play to take it into a tournament, but thatāsā¦ a very generous way of stating it. It was for the LOLs. The LMAOs.

yeah thatās faiiir my brain just doesnāt gel with positioning and aiming a hydra in the way that it does liter. maybe its because i played ballpoint in splatoon 2 so those genes take over
