I knew like 60% of the people there but I was still an awkward gremlin

I ended up being seated next to the groom’s dad on the important table (I was there since I was the brother of the bride) who spoke to me about engineering because he knew that was what I did at uni and he works in power generation, then he referred me to his ex-wife’s brother who I thought did something vaguely engineering related in the royal navy but then he handed me a business card saying commodore of the royal navy and OBE

It was Very Good and the venue was Very Nice (not a church). i am fully convinced the couple love each other Very Much and i like the groom a lot he is Very Cool

my favourite part was when I started speaking to my dad’s uni friend’s son who I hadn’t seen in like 3 years but we are like the same age so we got on pretty well then it progressed to having around 7 jagerbombs at the bar

I didn’t mention that my cousin’s family had already given me basically half a bottle of wine. and my dad’s cousin bought me a pint for no reason (he is a 40 year old man). everyone was buying me drinks. is this what it’s like to be woman
