I mean like I don’t know what “brainwashing” techniques this person is using but it’s likely they’re either ineffective or just normal people interaction stuff that they are labelling brainwashing because they like the idea of it!

The original intent of brainwashing conversation was to explain to them that they can change the way their mind thinks if they want to and that’s pretty cool

There’s this Tumblr post about how someone like, studied with a guy and gave him candy every time he got a French word right, and how they were at a party with him and had candy and he started listing every French word he knew to get candy. That’s pretty funny! But they claimed they “Pavloved” him into doing this subconsciously, and… no? From that description he was, like, clearly doing a bit of his own will.
Other people are human beings! They make choices and react to things! You’re not a cut Smarter Than Them, Brainwashing those Fools. You can build positive associations in people’s minds by… being nice to them, doing things they enjoy together, being receptive to their emotions, placing trust in them to make them want to reciprocate, but that’s not brainwashing, it’s… friendship. Just be friends with people!

I agree it’s not really brainwashing it’s more the manipulative behavior to get what they want that bothers me
The simplest answer instead of trying to manipulate someone into wanting to date you is to just flirt with them

If the person WANTS to date you, great, no brainwashing necessary. If the person DOESN’T want to date you and needs to be Tricked into it, do you really think you are going to have a happy relationship? Learn to deal with rejection instead of convincing yourself you can avoid it via manipulation. This person is coping about the potential of being rejected
