Under normal circumstances, a Philosopher spends their once-per-game ability to gain the power of another character. They still are and register as the Philosopher.

If a Philosopher is droisoned when they choose to spend their OPG ability, it’s lost forever. You can see this effect with similar characters like the Slayer. For as long as they remain droisoned, the ST may mislead them about the ability they gained; if they become sober later, they stop being woken up forever.
