i dont think the demand for human artists will go away any time soon

there are still people who make a living by manually crafting chairs, tables, knives etc. they can co-exist for a long time

if anything, if there is a future where ai art is everywhere, there will be a novelty factor to human made art. it will be much more rare

here is how you can do it

they can make some law or legislation or whatever the word is

where humans are allowed to make a “digital stamp” on their art to verify it’s made by humans. and ai would be disallowed to, it would be breaking the law

so now all human art has gone up in value, even if it takes longer to create than ai art. so it can balance itself. there could be collectors specifically wanting humanly hand-made art. there are already such rich people who only want hand-crafted furniture that costs 20 times more etc

imo, these are 4 different questions:

  • is x soulless
  • is x an equal or better quality replacement for human labor
  • will x replace human labor
  • is it ethical/unethical/ethically obligatory to replace human labor with x
