school begins at 7 year old here and ends when you’re 18/19 depending on your birthday
ive heard that we start a year late compared to the rest of the EU because we needed kids helping with harvest season during the times where we were largely agrarian but i’m not sure

mine started at 6 and ended at 18, only subject that every gave me trouble outside of the last year was art once

also we don’t have dedicated middle schools here i think, at least not in my town. i was in one school in grades 1-5, and then in another school in grades 6-12
