The strategy for 7 is the same for every (excluding 11) prime number above it: just memorize the unit digits, then keep adding/subtracting multiples to the number to get to a multiple of 10, and repeat until you get something that’s decidedly a multiple or not a multiple.

Like, say you want to determine if 7 is a factor of 3,129.

7 * 7 = 49 => 3129 - 49 = 3080

308 = 11 * 28 => 28 is a multiple of 7 => 308 is a multiple of 7 => 3,129 is a multiple of 7.

This seems unrealistic to do in your head? How do you remember these exact numbers. At that point why not just pull a calculator?
