In the US it is really cheap (relatively). Like almost all food in Bulgaria is like significantly cheaper, but beef is an exception. Like I can get a cheap beef steak for like 2 dollars, which is insanely cheep (because US produces a lot of meat).

But yea the one thing I can cook is a good steak, so I quite frequently buy steaks so I can cook em and eat it for dinner
