You’re capable of, like, discarding caring about someone’s opinion consciously if they do something to make you think it’s unimportant, but it still usually feels like you care at least a little, and it feels like it’s kinda difficult for you to do

The school had a poster on the wall of the lab that said “Safety First! Litigation Last!” and taught us how to talk about occurrences in the lab to avoid the school being sued (e.g. you can’t say an incident caused “fireworks”, you have to say “there was an exothermic reaction”)
