I like when there’s a lot of moving parts and I understand how they all work. Video games are complicated systems, at least the good ones. There are some books which are complicated systems.

the people are everything. their personalities and motives and plans are the story

But I do like when there’s a lot of people and they all have incentives and goals and such and those incentives come into conflict and it causes things to happen. And I know why they’re all doing it
