Marines is most straightforward and helps with fighting, Navy helps a lot with hacking n stuff which is probably the most helpful on average (since you can, in theory, win any fight with enough skill), and OSA is best if you wanna be a wizard Harry

fwiw I would personally recommend Hard difficulty
Normal is okay but ur prolly genre-savvy enough to benefit from going to Hard
Impossible is maybe erring on frustrating for most people and Easy is right out
mind you the game is arguably best experienced on Impossible but like I understand that going back to games from before you were born introduces a QoL hit that is essentially extra difficulty so I’m also accounting for that

there’s unlimited saves from anywhere so i doubt the difficulty will prove an issue on anything
