looking at this image its clearly very human inspired. the design for the alien. if it was a real creature it wouldnt look like that. it doesnt make sense for there to be so much space for a mouth and then no mouth. body parts arent there for no reason. if the creature never grew a mouth then that part of the face is unnecessary
