an acquaintance of mine had class today. Somebody asks the professor whether a particular theorem is proven. He responds “when somebody tells you something, like say [squeaky voice] ‘I love you’, that may or may not be true. It may be an attempt at manipulation, or the result of the influence of drugs. But a theorem, that’s proven. You know that’s true.”

Professor discussed this system in lecture today. “When |a|>|b|, if you start hate/hate, you are fucked. If you’re fucked, that’s when you’re going to have a psychiatrist, and you are going to take antidepressants, and the antidepressants are going to stop working, and that’s when you’re going to have illegal drugs. With |a|<|b|, the love goes away, and you are not going to have any mixing of prescription drugs… that’s how you kill somebody, is you take your prescription drugs and you [hand motion indicating swapping them around], which is why when you take prescription drugs you need to look at the pill and search it online to make sure you are taking the right one.”

On the topic of awful professors, I have a friend who knew a professor at their college who got fired after they (strong NSFW warning) soaked a tampon in tea and then ate it before drawing a swastika on the board.
Actually made me sick to my stomach.

He also apparently showed a video of a C-section pregnancy in his class because [404 Not Found].
