Cookie Thread Act 7: Romulus

Eh to some degree having a personality different from others in your field can be an advantage. There’ll be situations where certain personality traits end up filtering you out, but whether that filter is something that ends up being actively disadvantageous to you in a way that weighs out your advantages is another story.

Like, a lot of people who are unusually socially competent don’t go for being a software engineer, because they think their skills are better used in other fields, but that doesn’t mean high social competence disqualifies you from being a software engineer - it’ll in fact be an advantage! You’ll be more well-liked and better at organising people and more likely to get a promotion. And you’ll probably be the Best among your peers at it

hm. looking it up, it seems like people seem to think “Mickey Mouse” to refer to something as overly easy/fake/bad in general originates from the 50s-90s, whereas I thought it was clearly originated from online NBA spaces

nah thats mickey mouse

I always thought it was specifically referring to the NBA COVID/“Bubble” season, specifically the Lakers/Lebron’s championship, being a “Mickey Mouse” championship because it was played at Disney and wasn’t a normal championship with home court advantage etc.

and that it kinda just spiraled from there. But people seem to think things other than that?

no way

Like, I assumed calling something “Mickey Mouse” had the same etymological trajectory as a “goated”, its weird to see people NOT think that
