I think this test suffers a lot from, like, the fact that the person making this has a specific mindset but is testing people on. A variety of mindsets. So the test is “do you act like what I think a Woke Person acts like”, and so frequently I go “I hold the opinion you’re trying to test for but that’s not why I believe it at all and the question is stupid”

The relevant point I’d make to the current discussion is I straight up would prefer if no one tried to find a genetic marker for things like being gay or trans or otherwise queer. While it could be scientifically valuable in some regards, I think that gets outweighed by the certainty that knowledge would be used for absolutely heinous ends. A couple would get a screening of their unborn child, find out they have queer gene and decide to terminate the pregnancy or people start making up nonsense about that gene and how it makes us monsters or whatever. It would happen without a doubt and I don’t want it.

i was kinda under the impression that it has been Extensively Studied given the relative age and relative popularity of eugenics and that it comes up with ~the same thing most of the time (barring like, things that make any individual study wrong n shit)
and, obviously, that same thing is that eugenics is stupid
and obviously that doesn’t mean that these studies are Wrong To Do i’m kinda just like
are we really treading this ground again

I’m not talking about specifically eugenics here I’m talking more broadly about a lot of things. Many of them more recent. Like sometimes people will post a study that says, like, “landlords are exploitative” or “we should build more housing” and people make fun of it, to give a recent example

I also kind of think people doing studies which are wastes of time is, like, between them and the people funding it. Even in the case where somebody does a study which proves something everybody already knew and has no value whatsoever, like, what issue does it fucking cause me, what am I supposed to do about that
