The snarkiness and daring me to try you is within your town meta. When you are scum, you are a coward and dont know what to do except bailing out.
Mafia have motives to point out scummy behavior as town to push misvotes. Sure, they might not want to look like they’re going after townies too much, but you’re fairly universally SRed and your behavior is inconsistent enough to be objectively fairly scummy. If you’re town and you know it, how is this fuel for a townread?

Anyway, while scum don’t nightkill at randon, they also don’t follow perfect, consistent logic, and I find taking your pre-existing suspicions and going “okay, would this nightkill be actively harmful for them” is more productive than trying to take a nightkill in the abstract and divine the mafia from that. There’s a thousand reasons why anyone would kill lol - the most a NK will ever do is knock a few people off the PoE.
