Forum Avalon - Resistance Win!

It’s a fun game, but sometimes these unfortunate circumstances happen. Sorry you didn’t get to have that much fun this time!
Usually the game takes around an hour and you just go next game to have a better experience.
When you’re having a hard time getting on teams, I recommend just hunting for Merlin/Lovers and maybe poking for reactions.

Your persistence did get you one fail, so great job tbh

Thanks Kiiruma. I swear I’m not cheating on you with Kiiruma Hippo.

Proof: Jarek choosing me and Kiiruma as the lovers ended in a resistance win.

Thanks. Merry Christmas to you too.

In fact, Merry Christmas to everyone! ^_^

It wasn’t the missions that irked me it was the constant repeated “jarek is evil” notion that took me out of the game almost entirely

I appreciate that you can believe I am evil but when everything I say is responded with by simply calling me evil it makes it very hard to continue to be passionate or have any interest when I know that I won’t get any reasonable response

I havent read this game, but this feel consistent coming from you from the past. In a prior botc game you were really irked by people being adamant that you were evil. And you were, evil. It doesnt make sense to me to blame your opponents for being correct on you and and trying their best to win?

Again i havent actually read this game, its possible people were obnoxious to you, as a separate thing. But did people really not give you a “reasonable response”? You were evil, they were good, they found you out and i guess they probably tried their best to stop you from fooling people? Hows that unreasonable? This is a PvP game in a sense, no? People can make reaction tests too, as a side. I understand being frustrated at people being confident that youre evil when youre not, but I dont understand being upset at your opponents

Again i apologize if people were obnoxious at you and im too lazy to check

But “people being confident im evil and shutting me out of the game and im actually evil and im frustrated” to me is the same as being a jiu jitsu fighter and being upset at the opposing fighter for subduing you or being a football player and being upset at the opposing team for scoring a goal on your net. What’s the difference, what am I missing?

There’s one thing to believe I am evil - maybe you even know I am evil. That’s fine, but it’s important to remember that my alignment doesn’t change the fact I am a player in this game and that it isn’t going to be fun if I’m shut out of conversation because “you are evil”

I understand the point made about me being an evil player sowing discourse - in a shorter form of game that wouldn’t be an issue. In a longer form game that lasts quite a bit longer logging in just to be shut down when you try and talk about things, it can feel a bit bad sometimes

I wouldnt blame my opponents for beating me. If my fellow players just took blind guesses every game and were confident, and they ended up wrong - id be upset. If my teammates griefed me id be upset. If my opponents beat me id be impressed and happy for them for being smart and good gamers. Long form social deduction games are more often than not frustrating and unfun. I personally wouldnt take it personally if someone tried their best to prevent me from having influence, as long as they were my opponent and correct. Id be impressed at how much my opponent wants to win the game and is accurate

Definitely not blaming people for beating me that’s not the point made at all :sob:

This stuff tends to happen more in games where dying doesn’t exist or in botc’s case where dead people don’t leave the game actually that’s funny

Just a personal gripe though I get it but I wanna you know play the game I signed up for and I don’t actually rlly care about winning or alignments honestly more fun to talk about the game of interact with unique mechanics for me

Being shut out from discussions is definitely a very disrespectful thing, but only outside social deduction games, no? Speaking is pretty much everything you can do in games like these, right? So for instance in FPS games like CS the way to crush your enemies is by shooting them in the head. In league of legends you stun them and then one shot them. In games adjacent to forum mafia what is there to do other than this? Although I concede that its murky, since I agree being shut out from talking is disrespectful outside games like this. I mean I personally would just ignore somebody I thought was an outed wolf, and Id only speak up if I worry they will manipulate one of my teammates. I wouldnt rub my balls across someones face by gloating about them being outed. If this is what happened to you - valid, and sorry for assuming without reading. But if people didnt cross lines in their treatment of you and were just motivated by trying to win Im happy for them being accurate, its fun to play games like these with smart people who wanna win. As opposed to people who dont care and dont put effort and/or are inaccurate - thats just no fun

Some games like the BOTC ones have activity requirements that are exceptionally hard to meet if your only interactions in the game are watching people discuss “hidden info” while you twiddle your thumbs. I don’t know if this game had that kind of requirement but I kinda owe it to my team good OR evil to be there for them anyway.
