Indeed I do.
Anyway, about time I called ot a night now, so good night.
Reading over the day and reflecting on things I am currently leaning towards Magnus. Of the explanations offered for why Zorvo was killed I have been able to swallow his the least in this scenario. In additional to this, I have been aware for a long time that Magnus is a good player who has throughout the game pinged me on several occasions.
But it’s also strange because Squid has now been absent for awhile when Magnus stepped up their thread presence. This might just be pure paranoia but it almost feels pre-planned to tag out so the other has more of a spotlight. I felt like Squid had decent presence to start the day and now Magnus has that same presence to end the day.
Going to the way back machine of day 1 both Leafia and Squid were on Magnus and Kanave was on epitau to end the day. Kanave voted really late, Squid and Leafia I think had been on Magnus for awhile.
That’s ominous. We met for the first time this game, did we not?
I have a reputation for going AFK for a majority of my games, and/or getting misexed in the first two days.
The only way this game continues another day is if one wolf is executed today, this isn’t negotiable. I’m pretty sure that makes today MYLO, not LYLO, but whatever.
Everyone alive has voted me during the game, yeah. Your vote doesn’t really count, since it was there for like, a minute, but the other three have had votes on me for quite a while. I know bussing exists, but there’s also the possibility (nay, the truth) that I’m simply not on their side.
Zorvo wished for us not to vote Kanave at all, and from an outside perspective you’d be crazy not to consider Magnus/Squid as a viable world, although from my POV it’s either Kanave/Squid or Achro’s a deepwolf. Zorvo defended Leafia, so she’s clear either way.
My general argument is that Squid’s suspicious regardless of whether Kanave or I are Mafia, so from an outside perspective Squid should probably be axed either way. From my inside POV, I know I’m Town and I almost entirely trust this towncore which means these two need to be evil.
Hence why I’d personally like to vote Squid, whereas Mafia!Magnus would probably be pushing for a Kanave vote for the sake of consistency.
(Is it just me, or are Leafia’s suspects weird? It’s like she thinks Magnus/Kanave is the scumteam, and yet she didn’t disagree with my disagreement with that world when Kanave mentioned it earlier… does that make sense?)
Oh, I just meant since day one I had my head tilted at you at times. I suppose a long time is relative to the context.
I didn’t get the sense at any point that you were likely a person to be misexed I admit. I have liked your style through out the game and thought you to be quite charismatic even as others have made cases against you.
I suppose it is telling that my mind goes to “Wolf Magnus voting Squid is probably partnered” so if I looked at isolation of anything else and merely focus on ‘let’s kill a wolf today’ then it would not be the worst idea to vote Squid. I am trying not to give too much of my thoughts away so I can see how people interact but that’s been really limited today. I was hoping the three in my PoE would have discussed things among yourselves more.
Regarding Leafia’s suspects being ‘weird’, I feel as if Leafia is parsing you guys almost arbitrarily because its kind of shameful to admit that she doesn’t really know what she wants to do today. I think if one of you had made any effort to really case me hard you could have convinced Leafia to drop me a good 10-30% just based off of that.
In short, I think weird is a valid statement for how Leafia is thinking for most of this game yeah. I’m just grateful that I have experience with her.
I don’t even know what wolf Magnus would be thinking right now. Considering my behaviour in BOTF, I’d probably just ignore it, pretend it doesn’t exist. I dunno.
If I was going to be executed for the sake of info, it would’ve needed to be earlier. Today, it’s probably better to vote the player most likely to flip Mafia, let someone die during the night, and have a 1/3 chance tomorrow.
Here’s what I personally envision seeing:
Squid is executed, flips Mafia.
Wolves murder Leafia.
At that stage Kanave’s going to call for my death, and I’d probably return the favour, and you’ll ultimately determine which alignment wins, as either town or Maf yourself.
Alternatively, wolves kill you tonight (in which case, why not do that earlier?), and Leafia decides that crucial junction instead.
I think Leafia dying in that world makes the most sense, as she has negative 4 deep wolf equity. If you are wolf with Squid here this would be your play, I think? Just go hard in the final 5, it’s not like anyone is town reading you after Zorvo dies anyway but Zorvo is more likely to just keep tunneling. The problem for wolves is when town tunnels correctly, even for iffy reasons, it presents problems at lylo.
Yeah, a little late to worry about info I admit. I think it has been almost a full day since Squid appeared so that’s fun.
Seeing far into the future, huh Magnus.
By murdering Zorvo I’d lend credence to his words. The best plan of action for maf!Magnus is to keep Zorvo alive, probably kill Leafia instead and just let you manage Zorvo, as you’ve been doing most of the game.
Squid’s absence doesn’t help her case.
Man, no wonder people think you’re my only possible wolf buddy lol. When you say it like that…
Although I don’t know if I could stop Zorvo from snapvoting you at lylo, and I have doubts W!Magnus banks on that.
This was one of the last things Zorvo said. This shadow of a doubt would turn a mistake into a worthwhile risk, although it only really works if you’re alive. And it only works if I could actually convince you I’m town in worlds where I’m not.
On the other hand, we already know evils have stuck with their basic murders each night, and sparing Zorvo is a risk nonetheless.
Of course, the reason I am alive could be as simple as ‘Achro has been defending W!Magnus from town members trying to eat him.’
That’s a valid interpretation. Mist was “TRing” me, so it’s possible in scum!Magnus worlds I was chosen to endgame. After all, I endgamed fairly well in the last wolf game I played in. They certainly didn’t spare you because you were on the wrong track, since you got Mist out. You also helped get out Epitau, Eliza and Jaiden, but they couldn’t have known that all in advance.
Let’s look at the dead to figure this out. Apo makes sense as a first night kill, and May was killed because she was townread. Min was confirmed, and Zorvo was as good as.
We could discern that there’s also the possibility that wolves have left you alive because of the paranoid people like Leafia had about your continued existence. That leans into WIFOM, but there is a precedent on this site. And since I’m Town, I can’t know the exact explanation.
A big reason why I wanted more out of everyone today was so there would be a very clear path tomorrow if I died tonight. I cannot imagine a more painful experience than being killed before F3 and knowing who the final wolf is and having them and the other town’s arbiter of justice be… Leafia.
Leafia arbitrarily decided Kanave was more trustworthy than I was, so at least in wolf!Magnus worlds I’m motivated not to kill her tonight. Hint, hint Mafia.
Oh well. I never expected to reach this point of the game, if I’m being earnest. As soon as I saw Pigeon flip town, I assumed I was going to be the main wagon of D2, hence why I wrote that whole wallpost in advance.
This is either a triumph of my reading ability or really awkward post game lol.
I’m really eager to read up on dead chat myself. They’re uninformed.
“Achro just vote Magnus. Snap vote him.”
“Achro he slipped there. Achro didn’t you see”
“Achro just do it. Do it. Don’t hesitate. He is mocking you.”
“Achro, Magnus is the only choice!”
I will leave it up to you to decide which dead person is saying that.
I’ll probably be voting Squid in around an hour, and then I’ll head to bed. Then the fate of the game’s gonna be up in the air.
In the meantime, we can converse about our prospects. I’ve expected to survive every night if I survive the evening, and you’ve been expecting to die every night thus far. Isn’t that interesting?
I always think I should die. Since I have been in this game I have been in two other games on different sites and I have died n1 both times. I suspect me not knowing anyone’s wolf range in any meaningful way has contributed to this. There have been points throughout the game where I have liked perspectives from everyone alive today, which was easier to swallow when I thought Jaiden was howling. Now that we know she was not, it means I have missed more than one thing.
The last time I lived until day 5 in a game I was defending scum against suspicion. Hmph. Town lost that game.
