it was for these two, they both came off as varying amounts of wolfily empty

the first was like, lol, you’re saying water is wet. looking around the room, i don’t think anyone here actually needed you to tell them that? just looks like standard fake helpfulness.

the second one was the bigger reason. you talked a long, long time about zorvo and eliza, but none of it was alignment related, and the worse part is that the advice you gave each of them had the attitude of assuming they were town. like, you’re telling zorvo how to be more threatening to wolves, and you’re telling eliza how not to get ml’ed, even though you haven’t expressed a townread (or read at all) on either. the troll read goes similarly nowhere, but it isn’t the same kind of borderline tmiey.

i’m looking through some of your later posts, and they’re better in the sense that there are actual game thoughts, but i’m not getting the sene that you actually… care? about the greater mystery, like you only started solving once you sat yourself down and made yourself, and even then it feels like the reads are a bit checklisty/obligatory, like how you brought up a bunch of people and events you had nothing to say about in your readlist. (i think the points in this paragraph are relatively weak and am not putting a lot of weight in them.)

idk none of these things are damning to me on their own, but for the stretch of time until your list it feels like you’re taking in and processing a lot of good, useful information, and it’s just inspiring… nothing in you. reading through that would get most villagers thinking, just by virtue of not knowing. they wouldn’t need to “turn on” their solving mode or anything, because it’s… not a mode.

tbh i don’t know if i’m sticking to silviu at all? like voting okazo looks tempting, and i prob vote any of the current non-marl wagons to save marl.

if i did, and silviu died and flipped w, i might actually go for brad because him popping in with a shakily reasoned silviu vote and dipping, all right after i started really digging into silviu, is pretty bussy in a vacuum, while okazo getting wagonned next to silviu and not trying to shield or bus them is probably mildly >rand v if silviu’s a wolf. i probably wouldn’t kill him for that alone, just press him on it for a while and maybe pivot if i like what he does.

if v… i dunno, i usually don’t see v flips as particularly telling. i’d start with the same brad/okazo poe most likely, unless there was a super weird nk that suggested wolves are deep.

i don’t think any of this is actually super likely how i’d come into d2, though, there’s a lot that can happen between now and then and it’s really hard to predict how that changes my reads.

i said this was one of the towniest molly posts earlier and i still think so now, i think the way she’s playing around her silviu read is pretty villagery

maybe some wolves are just more badass than i am but i don’t think most wolves would immediately come in and shield may as boldly as marl and ybw if may’s a wolf? and then a lot of people accept the read but without much passion, which, if they’re wolves, seems more like conceding to the read than propping it up.

it’s not a super strong read of course, it’s working off of a lot of generalizations of how people tr’d may that might not be as accurate as i remember. such are threadstate reads.

which is just a really silly thing to focus on in general but especially at eod, as his main push

and like, okay, sure, he’s the only one who’s close but not over, but… half the game was talking about not wanting to cap earlier? and people started the whole post counting gimmick to avoid capping too soon. so like, vul’s name still more or less came out of a hat here lol

it feels like a push for the sake of having a push that he doesn’t believe ¯_(ツ)_/¯

for silviu it’s mostly what i’ve already said about them, their response to me didn’t actually affect my points much and their later posting really didn’t move me either way

i’ve still found him towny and my snap thought post-flip was that kazo’s marl read seemed like tmi

everyone and their mother finding a different reason to wolf read marl is a little trippy for me, and it would normally make me feel like i’m missing something obvious that everyone else is seeing, but like

just by scrolling to random sections of his iso i keep townreading him? like the way he goes hard at vul, then hard pivots to shielding him when vul’s still contentious, comes off as villagery lack of agenda, the way his initial wolf read on zorvo corroded felt natural and like he really wanted zorvo to still be a wolf but it just didn’t work out, and there’s just a general vibe that he’s looking under every rock to form and triple check all his reads at all times

i was waiting to see if lemon would improve, and her popin basically just said she won’t. it’s like, i get being overwhelmed, i get not being able to catch up, that’s me every other game, but she doesn’t seem to care about… doing anything else instead of catching up. especially when she said she read like 300 posts and isn’t talking about any thoughts she got from that stretch. she still hasn’t explained her marl vote either of course. it’s like she’s using being overwhelmed as a catch-all exemption, when it’s clearly not. she just feels frozen.

i’m also half-looking for wolves jumping on marl, and lemon sticks out like a sore thumb with having nothing to support her vote, not having any kind of passion or fire behind her vote unlike everyone else getting super cocky, and just generally being less towny and solvy than the others who are piling on marl. she feels like she landed there conveniently more than anyone else there.

yeah this was fair enough at the time, though i want to see where this read progresses

tbh my head just gets fuzzy when i try to formulate a kt read. he seems comfortable on tone, and he had that may omgus that came off as performative but not necessarily in a wolfy way, which is my least favorite kind of post to read into. do you have specific reasons to like kt? it might help me out.

i would caution against the “weird eod votes” pushes for now

it’s a really obviously bad-looking thing, but not so long ago i watched a villager snipe vote another villager at eod to save a wolf, and they were poe’d for it forever even though i thought they were obvious town

people start acting irrationally under time pressure as either alignment, and it generally looks more wolfy than not

granted lemon’s posts today are pretty heavily uninspiring, and my gut townread for purity on her can only be stretched so far, just, be careful with condemning someone just for acting out

this honestly feels like a classically wolfy ‘helpful’ post

hm looking back on molly i feel like most of my townread on her stems from her being correct about things which could just be a show of tmi
that said i think she has made several legitimately good points and her approach to silviu in particular i found very villagery
i’m waiting to see more posts from her today because i think the gamestate has significantly changed and i want to see how she absorbs it
there is the fact she ensured o. kazo would go over yesterday which is a definite point in her favor i just feel like her being more correct than most other players in this game might potentially be tmi-indicative because i feel like most people are wrong rn (insert molly’s shrug emoji)

& BTW I didn’t respond to your defense because it had nothing of substance. I’ve tried to rid myself of my old habits (refusing to play defense, refusing to engage with anybody’s self-defense, considering a focus on self-defense rather than scumhunting a hard wolftell) while playing on actual forums, but I’ve still got em.

As for non-“this is just the way I am” excuses, I didn’t find engaging with your defense of yourself productive - it was all things I’d considered and dismissed as sufficient explanations for your behavior. I thought you were a wolf - still do. There was no reason to engage you on your points because I’d learn nothing and achieve nothing, wasting my time and posts. The only reason I’m engaging with this now is because you made it About Me, and I love talking about myself.
