Sometimes I have difficulty understanding people with depression because I have a far different mindset, so I dunno if saying or doing something will cause it to make it worse.

In the sense if you’d describe yourself as cheerful at times.
Cheerfullness doesn’t mean to be happy 24/7.
i used to be in high school and then i went into uni and became a loner since i found my classmates annoying

From this perspective, it sounds like your happiness is affected by the social alive around you, this doesn’t have to be the only factor. But yes, I do get that sometimes there’s classmates that annoy you to the point you want to drop your goodieness and make them shut up, because you can’t be sensible to them to just say you want them to stop.
My cheerfulness is mostly from my imagination, interaction with online people and physically vibing on music.

Never restrict your fun because it’s childish, one is forcing your interests onto others and one is showing your interests when asked.
And besides there’s no such thing as “too nerdy” in things you love, everyone has somebody they want to do whenever is coding, engineering, learning spanish or be an anime loremaster
