Because town is often stupid. The info still exists. To suggest it doesn’t is to say this game is meaningless.
I play a lot of mountainous. You don’t win mountainous because of anything more than info gained from flips. It’s why I advocate for 2 wagons by EoD. No vanities. No bull shit. Flip the counter by vig n1 or vote d2.

Fair point, that is why on Upick that Jaiden could have shot Eliza after Whysper being wagoned since Eliza is second most voted wagon by that time.
